The Always Mastering mission is two-fold.
Hi my name is Anthony Munns and I am the founder of Always Mastering.
I want you to know I am on a clear mission…
1) To empower and focus the dreamers and doers (entrepreneurs) to grow the profits of businesses they are involved in via professional digital marketing techniques and strategies that are secret to many.
2) To help you develop productivity skills and habits and a can-do positive mindset that will provide a better quality of life for you and your family and increased value to your clients.
So where did this mission come about?
If you take a long look back at my life and history you will see a number of key periods, actions and people that have helped to define my not so clear trajectory in life.
1) The emergence and widespread adoption of digital technology (the great democratiser of our age).
2) The ubiquity of internet technology and the World Wide Web.
3) Decision to move (many times) around the UK and further afield.
4) A supportive mum who has been inspirational, strong, hard working and always given me the space and encouragement to be me, with never ending positivity, and through being my go-to person to talk shop, has ended up become one of the most marketing/tech savvy pensioners you will ever meet!
The reality is that it took me nearly 10+ years to gain skills, confidence and awareness in so many areas that no school or university will ever teach you.
Missing links that could have helped me achieve ‘success’ sooner…
1) Money (serious investment) that allows people to explore ideas and FXXX things up knowing they will be ok in the end.
2) Long-term mentors in business and a network (apart from really useful periods of subsidised support when I was just starting out).
Those missing links are SO vital to success in business, but….
If you are not ready for that help, no amount of money or experience can ever pull you to success, and I, like SO many others have had to tread the well trodden path of ups and downs (lots of those) on the way to much needed stability and growth (personal and business).
This is why I have so much respect for quality and pure hearted entrepreneurs who do this often painful work to better themselves and others around them (even if they realise that part later in life).
The modern world needs strong minded people…
Post-industrial globalisation: The modern digital world (bigger and smaller)
Now like it or not, the post-industrial landscape has made way for the ‘digital economy’, and this has in part released the ‘knowledge economy’ which has lead its way towards the ‘gig economy’ and artificial intelligence landscape that is pervading our world more and more day by day.
So what does all this mean for you and us?
Perversely it is the essence of capitalism that underpins these seismic changes, the continued drive to efficiency and profit that will eventually turn the globe to needing to look towards a modern version of socialism to manage the displaced workers and growing population who will no longer be needed in traditional job roles.
Think about that for a while, as this is where we are going…
There will shortly be no more work for masses of people.
You will need to either provide clear value in the new economy, via roles we are not fully sure of yet, or you will need to be supported by a government, system of subsistence or other entity.
If you are not involved in emotional intelligence, creativity that is genuine, caring, or offering empathy, you will very likely not have a job to do in the near future.
Yes much of your current drudgery and even skilled work, can and will be replaced by automation and AI.
If you are in advertising you will already see this taking place already in Google Ads and Facebook advertising.
Some of the best performing ad campaigns I ever created were set up to run on the Google AI algorithm, (especially app installs) and I did very little else apart from tell the machine to get me these leads please (with predefined elements based on past conversions), ok, so it all still needs managing (and in the end the machine gets a bit lost), but the point is the machine is all around and it gets better and better at pushing us humans away from roles we used to do.
So if we will all lose our jobs soon, why bother learning now?
In 1993 I left school with 3 grade C’s at GCSE out of 9 possible A’s.
This was the absolute bare minimum of what employers would accept for a job that anyone could get that was only slightly above making and packing sausages, which I happily did for about a year or more (and have fond memories too).
It took me a lot of ‘finding myself’, ‘losing myself’ and eventually realising I need a damn useful skill before I eventually finished in a degree in TV Technology and Media Production in 2006 with a 1st class honours degree and FINALLY gained a piece of paper that said, ‘he’s pretty smart’, but more than that, it told me, I can achieve something pretty difficult if I tried, and that boosted my own confidence a little higher.
Digital has actually given me my modern life…
It has opened up friendships, job opportunities, creative outlets, the ability to earn money while I sleep, and so much more.
Many would say that’s a bit of a strong statement, but let me explain why I feel this to be the case.
Can you see where I am going here?
The truth is, over many years I have pulled myself up again and again (I have been in dark, dark places trust me) and I have found some way to keep going against all odds, against my own mind, and I would imagine against other people’s expectations.
I am now in a position that I feel truly proud and blessed to be in, I know some pretty cool stuff that people pay very good money to know….but….(not a bad but really), it came at a cost of course, and I accept that pretty much all things do, especially the bigger things.
Though, that cost need not be so detrimental if you are wise about YOUR destiny, but too often that comes with experience.
Always Mastering is here to guide and pull you to a BETTER you in RAPID time…
I come to realise that life is way too short to mess about if you can get to where you want to be quicker and with much less stress.
A few small but important things also played an external part in this inner strength in my life and they were sayings and lyrics.
1) “You can’t keep a good man down” (common saying)
2) “If you ain’t got a skill or trade, then shut the hell up”. (Del the Funky Homosapien, Hieroglyphics)
And In later years I am amazed by the power of thinking and living your life in the way Alfred Adler suggests.
Now this is not an easy way.
But if you get to fully appreciate it, after likely fighting with many of the basic concepts, it takes all blame away from your own mind and the influence of others and makes you accept everything for what it is and move forward positively, and in full control.
This is achieved by taking actions that you know make sense (within accepted limitations), forgetting the past and working on now and positive steps forward.
Starting and continuing a journey is important…
I recall a mentor of mine circa 2009 when I thought I was pretty good at marketing (a fraction of what I know now), and he said, ‘Anthony, it may take you another 10 years to really understand what you are and what value you can offer’.
And it actually did…
I personally recommend the following books for getting your head straight!
‘The Power of Now’ by Eckhart Tolle.
In its simplicity this book is quite revelatory.
‘The courage to be disliked’ by
Just an amazing introduction to Alfred Adler (I listened to the Audible book).
Two Wolves (Cherokee Legend)
This legend explains that there is always a constant fight in every person.
Two wolves are at constant war for your attention.
- One is Evil – This wolf is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.
- The other is Good – This wolf is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.
The question that needs answering is simple…
Which of these wolves will win the fight for your mind?
Answer: The one you feed the most.
Sounds simple right, but I now clearly see that when you have two basic choices in life:
Fear (of the unknown), and unfamiliarity/insecurity (the evil wolf).
Faith (that you will succeed), and a positive mindset (the good wolf).
You must always make an effort to feed the faith and starve the fear.
That is a huge, powerful but simple mind-shift.
And I say this as a person who is not particularly religious in the traditional sense.
But as a common tenet in most religions, I suspect we have forgotten the power of this simple message in our modern, post-religious, secular worlds.
The Always Mastering Message:
Anyway, what I am getting at ultimately is that if you Always keep Mastering, hopefully with my help…:)…you will be doing yourself and others the justice that this precious gift of life deserves.
Now please go and take some massive action and get involved!
‘Here to inspire faith and support you as best I can’.
